Hello dear friends,
Hope that your Easter weekend and week, has gone well and here we are again and it is the weekend.
We had an enjoyable weekend catching up with family and friends and having a relaxing time and some lovely long walks.
I snapped a few photos and want to share with you.
Will start off with this elephant sculpture made from corrugated iron - I have always loved elephants, they are such magnificent big animals and known for their characteristics qualities of pride, power, dignity and reliability.
Next is Jemima Puddle Duck, who resides down at the Matiatia wharf and is always spotted honking and making a loud noise
If you enlarge this photo you can spot three wood pigeons perched high up on top of the Magnolia tree
This made me smile, someone had etched into the concrete on the pavement this little message : )
Lastly just want to say how much I appreciate all the kind friends that stop by and leave me a comment and here are some pretty pink tulips for you to say thank you.
Hope you have a great weekend
hugs
Carolyn

The duck, looks so fun , running along there, dear Carolyn- and the elephant is an amazing piece of art, they sure are special animals . Love the beautiful look into your home, and the pink tulips- Thank you, and a wonderful weekend to you, too- XxxOoo
ReplyDeleteNice photos! I like that elephant, too. Maybe I will try to make one out of cardboard.
ReplyDeleteI like taking walks with you, Carolyn. You always seem to find interesting things along the way. The elephant is delightful, and I'd love to hear puddle duck making his loud honking call. The geese's call is very loud as well. What a special saying that someone carved in the concrete. It's always good to smile. : )
ReplyDeleteHave a restful weekend, dear friend.
love, ~Sheri

ReplyDeleteCarolyn, this is such a sweet post:) That elephant at the top is so fun and that duck is adorable! Don't you love when you stumble across something that's so random (the etched stone sentiment) showing something pleasant and kind? There really are so many wonderful people in this world:)
ReplyDeleteAlways nice visiting your lovely blog! Interesting elephant there :) Have a great and sunny week, take care...

Happy May to you.
ReplyDeleteHello dearest Carolyn
ReplyDeletethis looks and sounds like wonderful days!!!
For three weeks I was away from my computer (but I was not traveling ...), so I hope you forgive my long silence. My postings of the past were all pre-programmed. Now I am back here and try to make up my blog visits.
Yesterday I saw a great TV-documentation about New Zealand - now I dream even more intensely of a journey to this beautiful country!
Hope you had a wonderful start into May - lots of hugs,
Traude
I love your walks around your beautiful island. So much of this post made me smile. Sorry I haven;t been around much lately. Sarah x
ReplyDeleteDearest Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteLovely photos and that elephant made of corrugated iron is very special!
Wondering how those magnolias are blooming in your region in the fall and we have them blooming here right now in the spring.
Finally starting my 3 months off, that means no choir rehearsal and no performance for the Revue at the Theatre, as we did on Saturday twice.
So glad it went well and with a great turn out. Pieter enjoyed the performance and I am waiting to see it on the DVD that we order.
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
